In 2009 …

… the music should always be loud. … I want to buy some apples. … friends may come and go, but some should stay. … spring should be friendly. … I want to see an alpine forrest in autumn.   Happy New Year 2009!

Apple Store in Munich

I just visited the recently opened Apple Store in Munich – Rosenstraße. What should I say? It’s a stylish shop for gorgeous gadgets. The shop sports the usual elements of design featured by almost every other Apple Store on the world: A giant, white glowing Apple Logo, huge amounts of glass, the well known wooden desks, two […]

This is a re-post of Stefan’s recent post. But the video is just too good.

Best plugin? Akismet!

Back from x-mas holidays I just quickly checked for anything new in my blog. Well, between 25th and 26th of December, this blog received over 390 comments. Every single one of them was spam. And every single one of them got identified and caught by Akismet. That’s what I call efficiency!

The “EchtZeitung” is now more readable (thanks to extensive use of Arial/Helvetica). As you can read in the offical announcement, this relaunch is a complete redesign of derstandard.at including an overhaul of the underlying technical […]

WordPress update complete

I finally managed to complete my WordPress Update. The new 2.7 Admin Interface is a real break through. It’s far more usable and has this almost professional touch to it. There have been several updates to the plugins I use too. The best thing … after all the updates and some fine-tuning of the plugins’ […]

XINGbook

Every once in a while I think I don’t really like Facebook. It’s constant flow of everything is sometimes irritating and paralyzing. Everyone posts everything about everything. Videos, Twitter-Updates, Facebook Headlines, Groups, Announcements … constantly spamming my profile as well as my mailbox (thanks to push e-mail and e-mail notification). But the one thing that’s […]

The Hubble Deep Field

The “Hubble (Ultra) Deep Field” is the picture that looks as far out into the universe as no picture before. It was made by opening the lenses of Hubble for a little more than eleven days.
